WHAT TYPES OF BOOKS & MEDIA ARE YOU MAINLY LOOKING FOR?
FOR BOOKS: I'm mainly looking for MODERN NON-FICTION (1990's to present).
While this is not a complete list, here are some non-fiction examples:

PLEASE NOTE: I may not be able to take in all books. Therefore, I will usually ask you to send a couple of photos before we set a pick up. This way I can quickly let you know ahead of time.
FOR MEDIA, I'm currently looking for:
> > DVD's (must be in original UNDAMAGED cases with artwork).
> > CD's (must be in original UNDAMAGED cases with artwork).
> > Cassette Tapes (looking for mainly rock, hard rock, alternative, metal, rap, etc...).
> > Albums (looking for mainly rock, hard rock, alternative, metal, rap, etc...).
> > Console Video Games (Disc or Cartridge) (PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo, etc..).
> > Handheld Video Games (Nintendo Gameboy, DS, Switch, etc..).
> > Stand-Alone Handheld Video Games (These have games pre-installed like chess, checkers, solitaire, etc..).
> > Older computer games (PC or Mac).
> > Older computer software (PC or Mac).
> > Comic Books (purchased in bulk - IE: boxes).
> > Board Games (pre-owned or new, but all pieces must be accounted for if pre-owned).

DO YOU BUY ANY OTHER TYPES OF BOOKS OR MEDIA?
As of July 2023, I will not be purchasing any MODERN FICTION like James Patterson, Nora Roberts, Tom Clancy, etc... However, other forms of fiction (see below) will be considered.
Other genres are always considered as well (IE: kids books, literature, etc..).
I'm ALWAYS looking for Manga / Role-Playing Game Guides/Expansions / Comics / Some Magazines
I will also consider small series or collections of a particular book or author (fiction OR non-fiction).
While I don't deal too much in rare or collector books, I would be interested in books by Easton Press (IE: The 100 Greatest Books Ever Written series).
Sci-fi, horror and fanatsy fiction are always considered.
Examples of this would be Stephen King, Tolkien, Dune, Game Of Thrones, Harry Potter, etc..
DO YOU BUY BOXES OF BOOKS & MEDIA?
YES! I'm interested mainly in MULTIPLE USED BOOKS & MEDIA.
This can be books, DVD's, CD's, etc... that are not boxed (IE: In a bookcase, on a shelf, stacked up, etc..) or books / media in a box or in multiple boxes.
ARE THERE ANY BOOKS/DVD's/MEDIA THAT YOU WON'T TAKE?
As of April 2022, I'm not taking in any cookbooks or encyclopedias.
I usually can't take in super mainstream movie or CD titles. However, if you're unsure, I will always ask for photos ahead of time!
I'm also not taking in any computer, IT, programming, etc.. books in a BULK BUY. However, I will still do an INDIVDUAL PICK on these (see below).
WHAT CONDITION SHOULD MY BOOKS & MEDIA BE IN?
I ask that the books being submitted are gently used.
This means:
> No missing covers or dust jackets
> No torn cover
> No torn or deteriorated pages
> No water damage
> No mold or mildew
> No nicotine stains, foxing, etc... (IE: spotted, yellowing on edges of pages)
> No bugs
> No smoke or musty odors
It's OK if the books are worn from handling or storage, have some writing or highlighting on the pages, have stickers, light page bends/wrinkles, light tears on the edges of dust covers, writing on the ends of the pages, etc..
I will also purchase discarded library copies. The above conditions apply to these as well.
DVD's, CD's, albums, cassettes, etc.. can't be damaged or have missing cases or artwork. They don't need to be perfect, but just complete.
Basically, I just can't take in any heavily damaged books or damaged media like CD's/DVD's with deep scratches, damaged art, missing discs, etc..

OK, I HAVE BOOKS AND/OR MEDIA! HOW DOES IT ALL WORK?
The model that tends to work well for most customers is the BULK BUY.
If you have a box (or boxes) of books & media (or one or the other), I can take all of your boxes & offer a bulk rate for them.
With a bulk buy, instead of me going through & scanning each item, I just take them all at once.
This option is good for someone needing to remove a bunch of books, DVD's, CD's, etc.. from a garage, attic or spare room, you are getting ready to move, have a house clean out, etc..
When I do bulk rate, I go by weight. So, basically, I throw a box on my scale (I'll bring a scale with me) & weigh the entire box(es).
The current bulk rate is $0.10/lb for books & $0.20/lb for DVD's & CD's. Pricing for other media (such as video games) will be determined as needed
While this may not sound like much, books & media can get pretty heavy. So it can add up!
Then, after everything is weighed, I add it all up, give you cash & haul away your old stuff!
HERE'S A BULK RATE EXAMPLE:
As a point of reference, a standard hardcover book can weigh roughly 1-3lbs.
Some books weigh more & some weigh a little less. However, to keep the math easy, I always round up in your favor! :-)
Therefore (using the $0.10/lb rate), if you had 100 pounds of books (lets assume various sizes of hardback, softback, etc..), then your payout would be $10.00.
200 pounds of books would pay out $20.00.
300 pounds of books would pay out $30.00.
BOX SIZE/WEIGHT NOTE:
If you're considering a bulk buy, please (if at all possible) try to keep your boxes under 40lbs each.
However, if you don't have your books/media boxed, that's OK. Just let me know before pickup & I will bring boxes / totes.
If you need a reference of an ideal box size, it would be roughly 16" x 12" x 12" (about the size of a Lowes or Home Depot SMALL moving box).
There may be some situations where I can pay for a book or set of media without doing a bulk buy (IE: a textbook or a collection). If you have such a situation, just message me through Nextdoor or use the email form at the bottom of this page.
WHAT DO I NEED TO DO TO PREPARE FOR PICKUP?
Not much. I just ask that the items be easily accessible & all in one spot
If posible, pre-boxing would be great. However, if you don't have boxes, then just stacking books/media is fine. I will bring bins.
If you do box them, please keep each box under 40 lbs & to a manageable sized box (16" x 12" x 12" is a perfect size).
I find it best to work outside on a driveway, carport or garage. This way we have a large, flat surface to set up scale & weigh your stuff.
